    Colt Python for Sale sighting

I dropped by Marin County Arms in Novato this afternoon and spotted a nice Python on the bottom shelf.

Its a 4" blue, 1968 year gun (#89XXX). Very nice original wood grips and just a little blue wear on the end of the barrel. Lock up is perfect. Beautiful gun!

The bad - someone has installed a red insert front sight (these didn't show up on Pythons until the 1980's). Easy to change but not correct for this early snake.

Consignment price - $2.2K. A little high for me as I have this exact gun, but a chance for someone to pick up a hard to find Python.

    Good luck new Python owner!!

No advertisement, its not my gun nor my store. I'm just passing along some intel so hopefully someone will find a hard to score gun.

If you don't like my thread, then feel free to NOT read it anymore.

      Thank you!!

Not an advertisement but a sighting of a possible nice Colt up for sale. Photos would have been good for those of us that live well beyond the Novato area.
As stated, the $2.2k Python is on consignment so perhaps a slightly lower quick sale offer might be entertained but it needs to be made asap as the Colt Python market is still skyrocketing however there are a lot of phony Python clones and screwed together real Python barrels on for example a Colt Trooper floating around out there due to the $raging$ Python market so the buyer should really know their Pythons or beware of a possible fraud. Go to http://coltforum.com and get educated as to my last statement if you are new to the Python market and want to invest or just shoot a fine piece of Colt revolver history.

Here is an example of a fake python that was for sale on one of the internet gun auction sites. The auction was halted after several complaints were made but even so, there were five bids and the price was up to $1800.00 when closed down.
These three photos were taken directly off of the listing. The barrel is actually from a Colt Python .38 target model but it is screwed onto most likely a Colt Trooper frame. Note the huge gap at the top of the frame where it meets the top of the barrel. True Python barrels and frames are in line and on an even plane with each other.
