Hi guys, I was wondering about the legality of Hi Powers in California. I know that as of 2010, Browning Hi Powers were on the roster and safe. But what about the Charles Daly Hi Power? The CA DOJ site doesn't have Charles Daly as a manufacturer to choose when searching whether or not a handgun is on the roster. I understand that this is probably because they are out of business, but if you find one that is privately owned in CA, can you legally purchase and PPT it?

Hi Power: CA Legal?

The roster only affects what a dealer can transfer from his inventory; not being on the roster does not make a handgun illegal.
PPT's are roster exempt as are consignments (a type of PPT) as well as C&R handguns and those registered via Single Shot Exemption or dimensionally compliant single action revolvers."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"
"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"
