    Muzzle Brake on SRH

    I need an answer.......

Can I put a magnabrake on my super redhawk?

Simple question really, but you think I can find an answer (I like) ...

Any help you greatly be appreciated.

I don't know "Magnabrake" but I assume it is a threadeded, so you could, but threading the barrel on a pistol in CA is a no no from what I understand. I imagine you could permantly affix one but you would be better off getting some compensator cuts installed.

I run a 454 SRH in 7.5" and have not felt the need to add them.
    Any reason for the concern?

Need would be the wrong word .... but want maybe ..... I have an ultra dot mounted on it, and I want quicker DA follow-up shots (on target), I would really like to reduce muzzle flip.

I have an ultra dot on my SRH as well. It helps add weight, but I really have not felt that they would help as much as the increased noise would suck.

Maybe look into better grips? I switched my grip to the Hogue grip and I have less wrist flip felt with it as I hold the grip better in my hand.

There are companies that will cut compensator cuts into your barrel. I believe the same people that make this "magnabrake" are the magnaport guys and they actually cut into the barrel instead of threading one on.

Again, for me, I kind of just accept the muzzle rise as nature of the beast when shooting Casull loads. Thankfully I have only used it for hunting and super-plinkin'.

Yeah, it is the nature of the beast, if I only had one 44mag I wouldn't be considering this, but I'll tell ya, I get bored and i want to experiment. I have hogue grips on it already, and yeah it will get a whole heck of a lot louder, but really I don't shoot my 44's without hearing protection anyhow.
