Picked up my Springfield milspec on Wednesday and went to the range today. Wow, I am impressed at the accuracy and beauty of this machine. My other weapons are gonna be jealous once I get some reloading dies

Congrats! I'm getting the same one! Compared it side by side to a colt 1991 and the springfield feels more solid and the trigger pull is more crisp.

I have heard this a lot, but also that 1911's are finicky and unreliable. Maybe true for some, but not mine. 100 trouble free rounds today. What does everyone recommend for magazines? The stock ones seem to be working great and I have a coupon to get them at a great price. How about chip McCormick?

Cobra mags are often regarded as the best mags but I have't personally tried them yet. Right now I have my factory mags and a couple different wilson mags.

I found a good review on some of the more popular mags on the 1911 forum. It isn't as fun of a site as calguns but you will find some good info on 1911s there.

Wilson Combat 47D mags are by far my favorite.
