Anyone in the San Diego area doing SSE on XDS 9mm?

I called Direct Action Solutions and unfortunately they're not doing the 9mm; only the .45.
I've tried calling Parallax Tactical for the past few days but nobody ever answers the phone.

Any ideas who in the area might be doing them and ballpark pricing?

ETA: If anyone in the area has one that wouldn't mind letting me try it I'll pay your range fee and provide my own ammo.

This is as close to San Diego that I've found doing the XDs 9mm - I'm waiting for the 4.0 XDs

It is $125. That includes DROS. The only other fee is sales tax if it comes from an out of state retailer.

      From Parallax's Facebook page

"Just ordered SSE Barrels for the Springfield XD-S series pistols in 9mm, 40 S&W, and .45 ACP. If you want one of these guns, get them ordered and transferred into us to be first in line for SSE!"

Was just going to go grab that info from the Parallax fb page but see that 3lixer got it. Looks like that's a good option.

Yeah parallax should be GTG by the end of the month. I was there about 3weeks ago and asked the same question. Along with the standard-cap mag blocks they are developing for the Cz 75 series

That's GREAT news! I'll contact them next week to get on the list! It reads like YOU have to order one and have it sent to them...

He states S&W .40, not XDs in .40 - they do not, and probably won't, be making one.

HOWEVER, the new XDs 4.0 will be coming out soon, and that's what I am waiting for - 4.0" barrel, in 9mm to start, followed by the .45 - I'll be getting them both!

              Thanks for the info!!

No one in San Diego yet. Got mine at OC Amory. Bought it online from lanbosarmory, $489 shipped with $5 off coupon code. OC Armory charges you $125 SSE Transfer Fee + Tax. (DROS included).

                OTD: $652

+1 to OCArmory. They are easy to work with, and they are one of the most knowledgeable FFLs in the State when it comes to the law. If I lived in Orange County that would be my go-to FFL.
You think you know, but you have no idea.

Would you explain what a SSE is for a guy who lives in a free state? I was thinking of helping my sister by ordering a gun from an online place and having it shipped to an FFl in San Diego for her. What other costs would be involved?
You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You might not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home, the first two things you're going to do are, 1) Call someone with a gun, 2) Pray they get there in time.

Happen to know the ETA on the CZ mag blocks?

you have to swap out the barrel so it cannot feed from a mag/be capable of holding only one round at a time and is of sufficient length, 6" i think, in order to transfer it

shops will do this for you but charge an extra fee, to recoup the costs of either making or buying that custom barrel

Holy cow! I guess I can forget that. So if you buy from a dealer in state, you can forego the barrel swap. Say, you want a Glock 29, as long as it's not on the ban list, you can buy it from a California FFL at their price, without any modifications? Plus the DROS and transfer?

You need the single shot exemption unless it's on the California handgun roster. Doesn't matter if it comes from out of state, or a dealers inventory.

Other exceptions to the roster also include certain family transfers. So if the handgun comes from a parent, child, grandparent or grandchild you can skip the single shot modifications.

I saw you snagged that XDs from a few days ago. If I didn't just get one I would have jumped on that.
