Found one! thanks! Need help picking a poly-framed defensive carry!

Ok so Iv decided I want a small concealable defensive carry gun. My roommate has an lc9 nd I love the size so that's the size I'm looking for (I think around the size of a g33?). My main purpose is to carry it around my 4 acre property, to handle animals without noticing a gun on my waist. I want plastic frame because I want it light.

Another thing I want is for it to be either OD green or FDE.. I don't want a black gun.

I'm willing to consider any notable brand whether it be glock, sw, ruger, sig, etc..and I know I have to be quick because of the stupid roster

Let me know what you think fits my needs best, why, and pictures are greatly appreciated. Also price range is around $500 bucks. I don't know anything about this genre of guns as I only have ar15s,akm, high power rifles, 1911s, 1 revolver, and a shotgun...oo also a derringer .22

So pleSe edumocate me about polymer-framed handguns

Ps. I am not looking for a Back up gun. I'm looking for a primAry carry gun to carry around the house

    Thanks!

Not a fan of polymer framed pistols

I own both a Sig 226 (all steel) and a Beretta PX4 polymer-framed pistol. The Sig has been through 60,000+ rounds over 12 years with minimal wear and impeccable reliability. The Beretta has only seen about 5K rounds since rolling off the manufacturing line last year, and already shows pits and grooves on the slide rails. It still functions well, but clear that this gun will not compare for durability.

I can't think of anything that would fit all your requirements. The Shield sounds like a winner, but your FDE or OD requirement will make it nearly impossible to find anything. Most guns aren't produced in OD or FDE and you certainly won't find one of the colored glocks in your price range. So either your price will have to come up to include the gun/refinish, or you'll have to use a black gun.

Thanks for the info... I had no idea that a colored gun is more expensive.. Damn human beings and their marketing strategies lol..

Ok well if it had to be black what would u suggest.. One of those sub compact sig scorpions would be awesome.. But Feinstein said I can't have one..

Any of the major brands like S@W or Glock or [Ruger question about parts availability aftermarket.] or Springfield XDs are going to be a good choice because they are reliable as well as the companies do a great job with warranty repairs as well as the ease of buying parts. Colors don't matter except for the Barbie types.

I picked up the S&W Shield a while back and I'm thrilled with it. I've shot the XDs, my girl owns the Sig P238, and her father owns the Sig P239. The Sigs are gorgeous guns, but I like my Shield better than any other sub compact handgun I've shot.

Availability of a good selection of holsters may play into your choices. As long as you stick with popular brands and models then you should have a huge selection. For example everybody makes holsters for Glocks, S&W M&Ps, Springfield XDs, 1911s, etc; but holsters for newer or less popular models are a bit more challenging to find. Keep in mind that it often takes a half dozen or more tries to find a holster that conceals well yet years comfortably.

Sig Sauer sp2022 one of the best polymer guns out there IMO and can be had at a great price $400-500. Ruger sr9c thin reliable and great trigger for a striker fired gun.One other gun to check out is a Kahr cw9 Ive handled some at my lgs and feel nice.

HK P2000sk 9mm, V3. (Da/Sa with decocker) you'll thank me later. It's about twice your budget, but it's worth saving for.

The one in center is what is like.. You are probably right about a g26 for what I'm looking

Just get a Glock 19 or 26 FDE... I just sold one.... or a 27 and put in a G33 barrel... Good luck with your hunt.

PS. You can also have your gun cericoted or however you spell it.. to the color you want if the one you find is black...
