    New SA/DA USP Compact

    Hey dudes and dudeettes,

Just picked up a USP compact V1. I love the SA trigger aspect of it, its very crisp and clean. I was wondering for those with V1s how do you carry it? Cocked and Locked so you never have to run it DA (unless you're going for second strike capability)?

Any Tips on improving my DA accuracy? I was naturally all over the place (most my trigger time has been spent on glocks and 1911s.

    Love the pistol so far,

    Cheers,

Dry fire it and spend a lot of time on the range. Good gun!

If, however, you find that you simply cannot abide the DA trigger, then I believe you can convert the pistol from Variant 1 to Variant 9. In Variant 9, the pistol is essentially SAO. There is a manual thumb safety on the left side of the frame, but no decocking function. Some 1911 purists believe Variant 9 is the only way to go: http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=93631

(For me, like I said, I am in SA mode all the time with the HK USP, but I do not mind having the option of a decocker mechanism).
thanks for the thoughts and comments! you sort of confirmed my thinking that the double action is more of a backup than a primary first shot carry option. i'll shoot it a bunch and get used to it before i begin looking at the match trigger kit and such.

              cheers,
