Gold plating 1911?

Need suggestions on where to get it done and done pics of anyone that had it done. Somewhere in southern California and prices with experiences with fit and finish.

If you just want something gold colored, Titanium Nitride would probably be a better option.

Fords Guns in Florida, they've done 5 guns for me.

It'll take months but they are well worth the wait and completely disassemble the gun and do each part by hand.

Speaking of techplate, anyone have anything reblued there. I have a S&W 586 I need to get refinished for my son. Can't decide if I want to send it to S&W or get it done local.

Desert Eagle I had gold plated in 2008 and another Desert Eagle I had them chrome.


AK I had nickel plated




I have another AK there and will be sending another in soon.

Thanks for the info. I was concerned about the durability. But I like the 24k gold look. Nice and shiny. Hahaha. I'm gonna call these guys to see what there experience with that coating is.
