    mag issue?

Firearm in question is a SigPro Sp2022 in .40. My last range trip, the gun had FTF almost every other round. I have been doing searches with no avail info. Never once has this happened before. upon inspecting the jammed round, you could see that the bullet was not getting pushed into the chamber. It was hitting the flat part of the bullet and not loading into the "ramp" I guess it is called. Would this be a mag issue? Even after the range I went home and lubed the hell out of it and still upon chambering a round it was getting jammed. Should I contact Sig CS about a new mag? This gun is just over a year old now and really has only seen -500 rounds through it. At $45 a mag I dont wanna buy one just to try and see if it is it..

    1. Sounds like you only have one mag, yes? For many, many reasons I would get more or at least a second and a few springs, followers and floorplates. Mags are the consumable part of the gun and eventually will need to be replaced just like springs. Also loose/drop/step on your only mag and then what?

    2. What ammo? Are you shooting the same as the previous 500 rounds? The nose profile and heat of the load could play a factor in either the slide not getting thrown back far enough or the blunt tip or odd shape of a hollow point might be catching.

    3. Load a mag and without firing any, cycle all the rounds through battery and out quickly. Any issue?

Yes, only one mag. I do need to get more but those dang things are expensive. I never thought about maybe getting a weak load of ammo, that would make perfect sense! I did only shoot a box and after that I got frustrated and left. SO I will give a good thorough cleaning and use my WWB 180gr that I usually use. Where is the best, most affordable place to get a extra mag or two. 10rds....of course...

These guys say new but are usually more like very lightly used or pulled out of for-sale guns to they have a little insertion wear:

Either buy more or borrow from someone. You can't effectively troubleshoot the issue with one potentially faulty mag.
