Ruger 1911 CMD

Any thoughts on this gun? Im thinking of getting one of the Rugers 1911 commander.. I never had a 1911 and i dont really like spending more than a grand for a 1911 as far as allowable budget goes.. For those who owns it what issues do you have on it or anything that i need to avoid...I have seen great reviews so far.. Ruger as being new to the 1911 race and i would like to hear and consider first hand experience and thoughts about it.. Thank you folks

Not on the cal roster. If your in CA youll need to try an SSE one. Ive seen them at a pretty decent price and they are pretty nice looking. From what videos ive seen its been positive feedback.

I have one. It is awesome.
I'm starting to shoot it more than my Sig Nitron Carry 1911.
It is a Series 70 design so there is no firing pin safety.
It makes detail stripping the upper a breeze.
I'm wanting to get a full size now to have the set.
