    Value on Chiefs Special

Not sure if this is the right section, but I wanted to see if you guys could give me an approximate value on a Smith and Wesson M38 Chiefs Special NIB. It includes all original cleaning tools and paperwork and box. Approximate date of manufacture is 1976

Sounds about right. Start at 500 and work your way down as needed.

imho the S&W Model 38 Bodyguard (1976) in lnib condition with original box and factory incidentals included could sell at a price of $440.00-$550.00. it's all relative to who's buying, who's selling and if the twain shall meet. the older S&W revolvers are moving up in value and many buyers prefer them to the current production variants.

Thanks for the feedback, I had tried searching the smith forums but for some reason I could only find values on 1950's models.

You inherited it? In 1979 it was worth $202.00 retail
