    SIG 1911 TTT

I have a chance to p/u a new Sig 1911 TTT from a guy who is giving up shooting due to disability incurred.

Does anybody know if the Sig 1911 can be upgraded with 1911 accessories (Like from Wilson Combat): Flat wire recoil spring, extended slide release, tactical or ambi thumb safety, etc. Just wondering if small upgrades are an option with Sigs.

Only thing different is slide shape and external extractor, everything else is traditional 1911

The TTT already comes with flat wire spring....at least mine did. But for accessories, you can do pretty much anything to them.

I love mine, but it's tight and the ejection port has a razor sharp edge

I have done no mods. I purchased it because it has an adjustable combat sight. The sight is extremely sturdy. With all the great ammo out there I didn't want to be restricted to firing the one load that would hit to point of aim (or bothering to find it). COMPLAINTS: IT'S TIGHT. I cannot release the slide with the slide stop alone. I must retract the slide before it will go into battery. Not a good thing if one is in a gun fight with an injured non firing hand. Second the top of ejection has an amazingly sharp edge, If one were to attempt clear a stove pipe by swiping the expended case I imagine it would cut the hand to the bone. (i have never had a stove pipe malfunction, but hey for what I paid for this firearm one would think that Sig would have removed the rough edges.)

Amazingly accurate with all the ammunition I have tried. No malfunctions. I have put a thousand rounds through it. I commonly fire 100 rounds or more before a thorough cleaning. I give it 4 stars out of five bc of the issues described above.

The only complaint I have about mine was that the front sight post was too tall (.260 tall). I was having issues with the shots landing way too low. I wanted fiber optics anyways so a call to Novak got me some new and proper sights. If there was something else to complaint about, it would be the sealant that is put over the rear sight line (the part that glows). It was like a small blob of transparent sealant and if the light hits it right, it was distracting. I took a razor blade and shave it off.

Thank guys for the input. I don't have it yet but will be picking it up soon. I will strip it when I get it and check everything first.
