You can get a Witness match and do that. .45, .40, 9mm, and .22 If OC Firearms had the Witness Match in .45, I would've gotten that instead of the CZ 97 to be honest, but they only have the .40 and 9mm.

Kadet kit for .22, and you can get a .40 upper to work on the 9mm frame. It's more expensive than doing something basic like Glock conversions. But it can be done.

Nahpungnome, if you don't mind me asking, what did a new 97 cost you? I've been jonsing for one for a long time.

Paid retail, $729 off gunbroker. I overpaid for it, but screw it. The first time I saw it on gunbroker for the same price, I let it go and regretted it. 2nd time, I didn't hesitate.

BTW here's a used on roster one: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=390071236

Some guns I'm ok buying used, I know enough of what to look for. This would be my first CZ and I'm thinking it may be worth the extra for a nib one so I don't have to worry. Thanks for the info though!

Love it I dig CZs with full dust covers. Is yours blued or polycoat? Hard to tell from the pic.

Looks like the polycoat. I want the same configuration but in the glossy blued finish.

Yep, the glossy blue is pretty sweet. It feels nice to hold too, the thin aluminum grips help I guess, but I can't compare to the original wood grip one. I'll be buying CGW parts and doing a SAO conversion on it as phase 1. Then later on I'll be sending in the slide to David to do the 1911 bushing. Hopefully I don't screw up the conversion, it doesn't look too difficult.

In the same boat as you. When I get the money thats one of the things I wanna get done. Maybe not the bushing stuff, but the CGW parts. Already got the red aluminum grips on it. Really slims it down from factory wood.

Mine came with factory slim aluminum grips and man, it feels nice to hold. How does the factory star bushing hold up after extensive firing? Does it come unscrewed at all?
