2nd form of id? (Proof of residence for handgun purchase)

Would a notarized rental agreement be acceptable form of 2nd address to give to my ffl for a handgun transfer?

I bought my last handgun with a driver's license and car registration. My address was current.

Yes. I use mine every time. As long as it's notarized it should be good.

It's a little bit of a clip/magazine thing, but CA does not require a 'second form of ID', they require 'proof of residence' for handgun purchases.

What is odd is that CA accepts a Driver's License as ID, while Feds accept it as both ID and proof of residence.

I've used Registration or utility bill and haven't had any issues.

No go on the Passport- CA only recognises ID that are issued within the state...

The issue is proof of residence in California. A U.S. Passport does not list your address or state of residence.

I've used car reg, gas bill, cable bill no problems. As long as the bill relates directly to your residence, cell phone bill does not count.

Yes it would work, I've personally used it a few times when I didn't have a car registration, gas & utility or internet bill.

A passport is not an acceptable second proof of residence. Notorized rental agreement is ok. There is a list of documents. I has to be on the list or it's not acceptable.

Vehicle Registration is easiest IMO, unless you dont own a car...
