    Springfield mil spec

Got her for $589 online. Is it a good deal? This is not the SS.

I checked the web an hour later and the mil spec was out of stock.

That's a great price. Make sure the serial number starts with "NM", as these are 100% American made and tend to be of better quality than the ones with Brazilian slides.

wow seems like I am lucky to get this deal.

That's my first 1911 45 ACP. I was thinking to sell the GSG1911... and now I will keep her as a training gun.

That's a great deal. Mine cost $700 online. Then I was put on delay for 5 months, during which time I spent another $750 in legal fees before DOJ released my pistol. So mine cost $1450 plus a lot of aggravation. neener neener.

                Not quite...

And how is he going to "make sure" as he ordered it online already?

Congrats! Not a bad price at all..as long as you're saving a good chunk of cash from buying online as to buying locally.

As for the "N" & "NM" serial numbers, once you get a chance to look at the serial number in person if it starts with an "N" the gun was finished in Brazil and "NM" the guns was finished here in the US. The "NM" ones that are finished in the US supposedly have tighter tolerances. Regardless of the serial numbers SA 1911 Mil-spec's are great starter 1911's.

BTW Springfield Armory's Custom Shop does awesome custom 1911 work

I bought my SA Mil Spec in 1999 for $300. It is my favorite automatic.
