    first gun

My uncle is a huge gun collector. For my 25th birthday he has given me a 9mm with no paper trail. Its not stolen. We live in NC but I'm moving back to Northern California next week. What do I need to do to register my 9mm and be able to being it to CA. Then where do I go to learn to shoot?

    Thanks
    Nikki

i think you can fill this out:

Which part of N. Cali are you moving to?

South Bay Area, Target Masters offer free Monday night classes, basic firearms.

I might want to add .I have not registered it in NC either. So do I need to regestier it in NC before I move. Then when I get to CA fill out this form?

I'm not sure of NC registration laws. and definitely check...perhaps someone will chime in on this.

I'd think since you're coming back in a week, you may not need to worry about NC registration. Again i'm not sure on this.

When you are in CA, i believe you have ~30days to fill out paperwork and send it in (To register the gun under your name).

Also, you may need to go get an HSC (Handgun Safety Cert.).

            Here's the HSC study guide:
