    Gilmay Guns: lost C96 Mauser

Anyone know how to contact Bob at Gilmay Guns in Fresno. I did not know they closed. I have a C96 Mauser for repair back in 2013. Now I don't know how to recover it? They did not contact me? Thanks and dunno if this is right place to post.

Did they move or completely shut down forever?

Whois.net gives a little information from their domain registration:

          Registrant:Sharon Mayfield
          Street address: NA
          City: Fresno
          phone: 1.5593490481
          Email:SKM1@ATT.NET (Should probably be skm1@att.net)

Perhaps the phone or email will be of assistance. Good luck.

Hope it works out; keep us posted. And I'm sure we'd all like to see a picture of your Broomhandle if you get it back

Strange you have to re-DROS it; dropping a firearm off at a gunsmith isn't transferring ownership although a gunsmith has to log it in and out of his book.

Redman's Rifling used to be the goto guys for Broomhandle barrel work. Be sure to have your pistol inspected by a well qualified gunsmith before shooting; if the bolt stop fails the bolt can exit the pistol and strike whatever is behind it (possibly your face).

I have a restored (non collectible) 9mm Broomhandle conversion that is only a wall hanger since I don't really trust it, don't find it all that much fun to really shoot (there is a reason we don't use broomhandles as pistol grips anymore or use stripper clips instead of magazines in them) but still love the look, craftsmanship and design ingenuity of the first truly successful semi-auto sold in quantity.
