CZ SP-01 vs CZ 75 B SA (Ding Ding)

Playing with the regular 75B and an SP-01 today. Weight difference is significant. So I'd imagine playing at the range, the SA would be better for weight. But I imagine that weight helps out in games, so if you were in a competition, the SP-01 would be better. I really do like the lines on the 75B better than the SA. So.....based on the two guns......I take CAGLS approach. SP-01 converted to SAO. Which is what I'm about to do.Comment

Same thing I did to my 75B. Straight trigger, removed disco, removed FPB and lever, 13 lb hammer spring, CGW hammer and sear, new trigger spring, new firing pin spring, new grips.
I need to do a lighter recoil spring also, but not sure about weight. I'll also be adding the oversized controls, and possibly the sights. But I want to shoot it first.Comment

Already have the sear spacer. Forgot that in the list. The reason I need a lighter recoil spring is its only a range toy and class gun. The 75 recoil spring is perfect for the rounds I shoot and light enough to do press checks. I have a hard time doing press checks with the stock SP-01 spring.Comment

If it's IDPA (which is more popular than USPSA), the SP-01 has a real problem making the IDPA weight limit. It's simply too heavy.
The gun, straight from the factory, weighs 41 oz. The SSP division weight limit is 39 oz. .
75B ??? No problem.Last edited by nikki#2; 02-10-2014, 6:01 PM.Comment

Since it seems to be the underdog, I will put in a vote for the 75B
I like the classic hi-power reminiscent look a lot more. The SP-01 is nice that it has the tac rail on there and if your primary purpose is a home defense gun that would be worth it, but just my overall preference I think the SP-01 just looks too bulky and blocky.Comment

The SP-01's benefit of the rail is not only to have the ability to add on a light or laser, but to have more weight up front and balance so it can quickly get back on target along with subduing muzzle flip during rapid fire.Last edited by CAGLS; 02-10-2014, 5:46 PM.Comment

CZ, wish my deaprtment let us use CZ... I really dont feel like buying a handgun that is only for range purpose. Maybe someday I will buy CZ.Comment

You'd want to haul around a steel framed 41oz (without ammo) 9mm pistol all day / every day ??? You must be into into weight lifting?
A Glock 19 is 23oz.Last edited by nikki#2; 02-11-2014, 2:25 AM.Comment

Does anyone know where to get a SP-01 currently? Tried a few places that I know of, but no luck. Thanks.Comment

He never stated which model numb nuts. Either way I'd personally rather carry around the weight then the shoot yourself in the foot gun. :/Originally posted by Jimi JahI punch paper only because it is illegal to punch people.Originally posted by elpaisa1I think flatulence is a more serious crime. I think it should be a misdemeanor with a 1000 dollar fine or 6 months of jail. It should be a felony if done near an open flame.
