got my first Dan Wesson

bought my first Dan Wesson Today just got to wait 10 long days
now I'm looking for a set of grips, I need some in some advice on witch to get

i like the alumagrips. they are as close to the thingrips from cz custom as I could find for a 1911

What grips are you interested in? There are ones made of wood, hard plastic, rubber and within those, many different styles and checkering.

I am a big fan of wood grips myself. Dark brown (maybe cocobolo) checkered grips will look good on a stainless 1911. Dark gray will, too.

Also, budget is a consideration. I took a chance on spending a little bit more than the typical grips by ordering Ahrends grips - custom made (well, more like semi-custom based on their selection) and I can't be happier. The wait is 10 weeks but worth it:

Congrats I bought some carbon fiber VZ grips for my first 1911 Dan Wesson Valor but will be buying some more from these vendors:

Sarges Grips: exotic wood, snake skin, stingray, bone, ivory

Designer grips: carbon fiber, kevlar, g10, pearl

VZ Grips: g10, carbon fiber, wood

Ahrends are worth the wait. Most of my 1911s wear Kim's shoes. (grips )
You can choose from what he stocks, or for a little extra, send him your own wood and choose how you wan them cut. He has done this for me many times.

You can't go wrong with Ahrends.
