Had a clown at work tell me that I can't take a handgun purchased and registered in CA out of the state.

yeah that's totally backward. you can't bring anything good HERE, but you're free to leave with it, for now. I reckon sooner or later they'll close the borders OUT of here to keep as many taxpayers as they can, lol.

Other than things the state calls 'assault weapons', and machine guns and other NFA items, for which CA requires you have a CA license, and of course magazines greater than 10 rounds (Y'know, when I started typing that I thought it would be shorter ... ) one may bring to CA anything you like - and nothing in CA or Federal law restricts crossing state lines with legally owned guns not in the 'other than' group, above.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

I'm pretty sure there's a way to get your gun off the DOJs registers when you leave the state. I've seen people talking about it before. I'm also pretty sure Arizona doesn't have a registry and even if it did, why would you want your gun on it?Comment
