    Good point.

Kimber Pro size guns come from the factory with a 22 lb. Officer's spring. The gun is undersprung for the 4" barrel and that is why the manual says to change it out every 800 rounds.

Wolff makes an XP spring especially for the Kimber 4" guns. It is a few coils longer and will last over 1500 rounds. I'd suggest you replace the factory 22# spring with the Wolff SKU 32725.

I agree if the OP has a 4" Kimber Pro; I just haven't seen what model he has stated in this thread. Maybe I missed it.

OP said he had a 22# spring kit. It would have to be a Pro unless the guy who sold it to him was a complete idiot.

I use my 22# for my 10mm Kimber on full power loads. I can't imagine anything but .45 +P needing something that high.

22lb recoil spring is too heavy for standard ball ammo. 17# is good, but I usually just stick with 16# to keep it reliable. A real 10mm load through a 1911 will require a heavier recoil spring.

It is a full size custom tle 2 and the spring he sold me was rated at 22 lbs.

                      Well that answers that question...

                            Yep, gotta agree.

You need a standard Gov't. 16# spring for your gun. You should get over 2000 rounds on it before it needs replacing.

I've heard 16 pound spring is standard and replace every 3000 rounds.
