Check it out. A company called Solid Concept printed all components of a 1911 using a process called Direct Metal Laser Sintering. Has a 2000 rounds through it without a malfunction.
Their limited run is going for almost $12K a pop, but this could lead to further advances in lower the costs of firearm manufacturing.
