I second that recommendation. You must experience a Sig in your collection....you WILL be doing yourself a favor. Also, check the Roster as many listings are expiring this year. They supposedly are renewable with the payment of extortion money by the manufacturers to the State, but I'll believe it when I see it.

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We'll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we'll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness. (Ronald Reagan, 1964) -
Yes, you are correct, my mistake. Looks like they had a design patent back in the early 90's but those only have a short shelf like (14 yrs.?)Can't comment on the factuality of that statement. Can point out that Masterpiece Arms and several manufacturers of AR uppers are all cranking out 5.7 launchers of varied styles.
I can't possibly make the argument for a practical need for the 5.7 round or any of the firearms chambered for it to the average shooter. I can say that the Five Seven pistol is probably one of the most fun, accurate, and reliable firearms I own. Should the opportunity to own a PS90 type firearm ever present itself, or for that matter any reliable carbine chambered for the round, I'd seriously consider getting one.
I can say that I do love shooting my five Seven HG. Low recoil blah blah. And the mag capacity is outrageous if you get to a free state now and again. I do love my Sigs though too. Had a p226 for the longest time and then decided on a p229. It's a thing of beauty, never jammed (knock on wood) and the safety features make it a great carry piece. I have a p220 also and it is awesome. I also have a great affinity for glocks, but if you collect they can get kind of boring with the constant reliability (joke). 1911s are really cool if you take the time to read the books, kinda like owning a classic car. Lots of little tweaks you can do. Needs some love and attention to detail but treat her well and she will purr like a cat and destroy what you are intending to. You could go old school and get a nice Smith. Feeling the report of a .357 just rocks. Bigger wheel guns like .44 etc start to lose the romance a bit because of the weight. But just my opinion. If I was going to look for something "exotic" in a revolver, you might want to check out a .41 mag.Comment
