Zev Tech Glock 19...

Hey Cal gunners, I am looking for some direction or help in regards to building a Glock. I am thinking of buying a bare frame Gen3 G19 frame and sending it to Zev for them to do some frame work to it. I will also buy the Zev dedicated Billet slide with cuts in it as well as all the goodies from them. I am very familiar with these pistols so, building one on my own should be no problem once I get the parts.

I go in circles with poly pistols. M&P-USP-XDm-Glock-blah.... I have owned over 20 Glocks, 15 XDm's, 10 M&Ps, and about 5 USP's... I get on crazy plastic kicks and then fall out of love with companies and in love with others... over and over and over. Its actually stupid

So with that said, I think I have come to my final conclusion. I am going to get a USP9 compact for my car and as a back up type pistol.... and a G19 for carry. I am not touching the USP, its staying as stock as it gets and I love the USP as its just fun to shoot.

As far as the G19, I would like to make it just as I want it. I have decided that the Zevtech stuff is where I want to go (unless someone can convince me otherwise). Since I have gone up and down the line up and owned so many of the aftermarket stuff, I think Zev is one of the best and... they are not crazy in terms of prices goes (like Salient).

So, with that said... I am looking for some feedback on thoughts, opinions on what I am thinking of doing... going back to Glock, and if you think that the Zev upgrades are smart?

Lastly, I own ALOT of training hours and trigger time so, I am not overly concerned trigger lbs, etc... I train with what I carry (to an extent) and this is what I feel best with for concealment, comfort, and simplicity.

Why? Not to be a dick, I dont want to hear... "you could be sued" or the trigger is to light, or it voids Glocks warranty, etc..

I understand all those point but, I currently carry and have carried a M&P with Competition Apex trigger, etc... for over 3 years. No problems, comfortable with this type of trigger, etc...

I honestly do not know why I want to switch either... its for no other reason other than its just something I want to do.

Maybe God wants you to go with a steel CZ and send it out to CZ Custom or CGW.

Lol, I own a 75b that David did work on, a SPO1 Shadow T that Stuart worked on, and a CTS Custom that Stuart did work on as well... Those are not ever going anyplace.

Actually, nothing to do with any of the above. I just wouldn't want to trust my life to a heavily modified Glock. Isn't Zevtech stuff mostly for race guns? That is what I associate them with.

Yeah, for the most part... At least you have a valid concern! I appreciate that point! Def worth consideration

Do what you want..I'm sure you will anyway..But , in the case of a CCW pistol, I have read & heard to do very little mods to them. God forbid you have to use it in a defensive situation, an over eager D.A. or Civil Attorney will have a field day with that....But, again as I said..Knock yourself out..

While most of the Zev Glocks you see are race guns you can easily have one setup for carry. I was skeptical before I spoke to them. But after talking and going through each option I learned the differences on why someone would or would not want the option. Like for instance you wouldn't want such an aggressive stippling, magwell or a 2lbs trigger. I actually started with a 2lbs trigger but prefer the 3lbs more just by swapping out the disconnect and keeping the springs. Same thing with an extended slide lock, it was digging into my holsters to exchanged it for a standard length.

Besides that, I love how it performs and looks the way I want it.

seems youre set on ZEV, just go for what makes you most comfortable and worth while. on a side note; I love my SAI

This is one of the reasons why I don't like much inside of my glocks... especially a carry piece that you trust with your life.

Defensive pistol courses don't like you to have a bunch of tricked out crap in them either.

If you want a Zev.. I don't blame ya.. keep it as your primary toy, and keep a near stock glock as your primary defensive piece.

My G27 carry piece only has a 3.5lb connector, an short extended mag release, and an extended slide stop. .. oh, and some Talon grips.
