Drop in trigger vs trigger job

I have a XD9 4in model. I want to do something with the trigger but not sure what will give me the best bang for my buck. Do you guys recommend something like a springer trigger or just a trigger job from a gunsmith. I want to look at cost, function and reliability and see what the best value is. Also I haven't priced trigger jobs yet so I'm hoping people that have had them done can chime in on price and results. Thank you all!

No but I shoot pretty well already I think. I shoot about 2 in groups and I'd like to get that down.

I can recommend a trigger kit from Powder River Precision. I have an Easy fit trigger in my XD9 and it is great. The gun had a clean break stock but a long pull and reset. With the kit the pull and reset is very short. The trigger feals to be around 3 and a half to 4lbs. It now has a pull similar to a decent 1911. It's almost too light for self defense but I have other guns for that.

Trigger kits for XDs are easy to install and make a huge difference, mostly for that long pull and reset.

I think I used a Springer Precision kit.

I'd say a trigger job from Powder River Precision. That's the route I went with my xd9 and xd45. Better than their drop in trigger (which I tested on a friends xd) since it's custom fitted.

How much does the custom trigger job run through them and what is the turn around time?

And thanks for all the suggestions for a drop in!

              Still can't decide.
