    CA DOJ Handgun Roster question

Hi I'm fairly knew to firearms and had a question about the CA handgun roster.... I read through most of the sticky but didn't get a clear answer for my specific situation.

So.... My situation is as follows:

    - Placed a special order for a CZ SP-01 (paid for half of it) back in 11/2013 and have no idea when it may arrive due to scarcity per LGS.
    - The SP-01 falls off the roster after 01/31/2014 as of 01/08/2014 (Unless of course CZ renews it and then this thread is meaningless).

My question is that if my gun doesn't come in prior to 01/31/2014 or for whatever reason CZ decides not to renew the SP-01 on the roster would the fact that I placed an order while it was still on the roster hold up and allow me to eventually own one or because a DROS won't/wouldn't be completed prior to the expiration date mean that I won't be able to get my SP-01 from the LGS I ordered with.

Thanks and sorry for the run-on sentence

My understanding is that if you are in your 10-day wait when it falls of, you can pick it up. If it is just on order, no dice.

Right, if it drops off the list you cannot DROS it.

You could try and find a dealer who will SSE it for you. Then you can still get it.

No idea if that model handgun has SSE equipment readily available or not, but if it does, it'll cost you roughly $100 more, but you get what you want.

Arghh.... I figured as much. Thanks for the quick reply.

Guess all I can do is hope for CZ to renew or even better yet have the gun come in before the end of the month.

But you'll have a nice deposit on something else!

imo buy one off gunbroker (you may have to forego mags depending what is currently up) to ensure you get one.

Find a local FFL that will do an SEE as a backup plan. That dealer can send it to the SSE dealer to process the DROS if that actually happens.
