No, spend the money on an extra magazine or two and ammunition.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and...

          Wait...

On second thought, no I won't.

I bought a shok buff just to try out. Can't really tell the difference on my Sig 1911.

I have one. I don't need it. If you want it, it's yours for free. Just pay shipping.

                  That's a big NEGATIVE!!!

The best way to really get to know your 1911 is to shoot it the way it came as. Now, after a couple of thousand rounds down range and you feel the need to start modifying your RIA, then go at it!!!

If you need a recoil buffer for a 1911, it's probably best to stick to .22

Maybe you should try shooting it first. Do you also salt your food before you eat it?

They arent needed, but i use them anyway, not to dampen recoil but to put a little less wear on the frame. I change them out once they start to deform a little.

What are they? None of my 1911s have them.

Use ONLY John Browning shock buffers. He designed them to work with the pistol and made sure that the pistol was issued with dozens of them, because without shock buffers, the pistol won't function.

                              It's a solution looking for a problem.
