Micro stamping- let me get this right

So what I hear is In 2014 any handgun that is expiring the DOJ Roster list will have to be re dropped test and have to have micro stamping. Since that technology does not really exist to do that, then that means that all handguns in California will disappear in gun shops by the end of the year.
Has the NRA filed suit on this? That's like saying no cars that don't get 200 mpg will be allowed to be registered.
    Is this correct?

as long as they don't change anything to the pistol, I believe they can just renew by paying the fee. Its when they make a change that they will need to go through testing again and new laws apply.

Its a backdoor ban. That's all. Micro stamping is the global warming of guns. A complete and total lie.

Global warming is a charade designed to give totalitarians complete license to destroy liberty. Microstamping is the same. A lie used to further other agendas.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

This bans all semi auto handguns in the period of a few years.

This. But yeah, guns already on the roster are grandfathered in unless the manufacturer lets them expire and fall off the list.

And that's why I am moving out of California...

I was just let go from work and that was the last thing holding me to this state.

At the end of the month, I am outta here.

It's pretty much what dyson said. As long as they don't change anything "significant" they can continue to renew the pistol and it's essentially "grandfathered". However, if they make a significant change (i.e. Gen3 GLOCK to Gen4), the pistol will need to be retested and meet the new requirements.

There is currently a lawsuit awaiting judgement Pena vs. CID that challenges the legality of the roster all together, and we expecting a ruling in less than 90 days. However, regardless of the outcome, it will be appealed by one side or the other, so I wouldn't expect that to play a huge role for at least a year or so.

It is my understanding that existing firearms on Roster are allowed to stay on roster without having to meet current requirements. These pistols can stay on Roster via renewal payments. Any firearm that needs to be added to the Roster, whether its a brand new model (new generation) or an existing model that needs to be re-Rostered, will need to comply with the newest microstamping requirement, along with mag disconnect safety and Loaded Chamber Indicator (LCI).

Or make a manufacturing change, i.e., an improvement in design, such as with the Ruger SR22. This caused it's removal from the roster.

Can it be reinstated with the completion of another round of "safety testing", or would it also require incorporated microstamping?

I think we all know the answer. Since microstamping is not being embraced by any firearm manufacturer, likely due to production issues and increased costs, we will experience the brunt of this illogical and unconstitutional infringement.

Or change the micro stamps on all guns to the exact same stamp "FU"

                              Dyson and roundeye have it.

It isn't '2014' - it's all guns submitted for testing after last May 17.
