    Olympic style 22LR handguns!

I am toying with the idea of buying one of the Olympic style match pisitols on the California exempt from safety certification list. I don't need one of these for competiton. I just want one because they are neat looking. I lost (its a long story!) one of the Russian versions from EAA and ever since I have felt a need for a real modern Olympic pistol (I guess 22 Short is OK but I would rather have a 22LR version).

Which ones of these are currently available new locally in So Cal?

Is there a store in So Cal that actually stocks any of these guns so I can see these in person rather than ordering them sight unseen?

Thanks for any help you might give,

      Hi LD,

Long time since TFF. Glad to see you here.

I've always liked those "Free" pistols. Pretty cool. A local guy @ the Concord range shoots one regularly @ the 50 yd line. He's had it a long time.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

They don't sell very well. People with $2000 to toss around generally go for high-end 1911's.

          You might..

want to try one before you buy one. Friend of mine had a Hammerli free pistol that I considered buying- the price was VERY right. I took it out the range and shot it a bit. The triggers on these as SO light, you can't even rest your finger against the blade. Not the best situation if you are used to the 'squeeze the trigger' method. Shooting one of these will mess you up for anything else, or vice-versa. Needlss to say, I passed on the deal after shooting it.
