I really appreciate the responses/opinions I get from everyone on this forum.
My question today is Sig Sauer vs Colt?
So far everytime I ask for a comparison Sign Sauer always come up the favorite. I am looking for a 9,357, or 40. Single stack because for some reason I shoot better with one.

You really can't go wrong with either. Personally I would go SIG. They have 1911's in all 3 of your listed calibers and give you significantly more for your money than colt does. Colt you pay for the name, SIG you pay for the quality IMHO. Also look into Kimber. They give you a lot of bang for your buck. My 8 year old TLE II has been flawless for 11,000 rounds. No break in was required.

Odd to try and compare colt vs. sig in those 3 calibers? My guess is you will be forced to pick Sig unless you add .45acp to the list.

Yes, it's a vague question but personally, I would take a Colt any day over a Sig. Colt makes some of my favorite guns like the 1911 70 series, SAA, and the Python. And Colt is not just a name, to me it means little to no MIM parts, original specs, beautiful bluing, and guns that work right out of the box. I think they had some issues in the 80s and 90s but they seem to be making quality guns again.

You can't go wrong with either. Some Colt models such as the XSE is cheaper than sig.

The nightmare is available in 357 SIG. That round is pretty devastating our of a 4 inch barrel. I can only imagine what another inch of barrel length will do for it.

Sigs attitude towards California both with the ridiculous loaded chamber indicator and warranty policy makes me never want to buy a sig again. Otherwise I really do like sigs a lot...

I'm gonna get a lot of flak for this, but stay away from new Colts. Anything before 1990 is excellent. Avoid anything after 2000. Not sure about the stuff in between.

Just buy whatever floats your boat. Go to your local store/range that rents and try out different calibers/brands and go from there.
