    Kimber Desert warrior help please!!

I'm new to the California gun laws so I need some help please.

I was just in my local gun shop looking to buy a "Kimber Desert Warrior". Thats when I was told that the Desert Warrior could not be bought in California.

So why can you buy the black warrior but not the desert one? Or can you still buy the desert one?

I seemed to be a little confused as to the thinking behind this if it's true....

Thanks for helping the new guy.

CA wants to drop test each and every gun to be sold in CA. Even if its the same gun but different color, they want to drop test it. So untill Kimber gives CA a Desert Warrior to test, you'll have to find one for a PPT. Sux I know. Welcome to Kalifornia... and Calguns.
I am looking for a Desert Warrior myself.

Here's a couple of things to remember when looking to buy a firearm or shoot a firearm in California.

If it looks cool the democrats said you can't have it.

If it sounds Ridicules’ the democrats made it a law.

The less sence it makes the more adamant the democrats are about making it a against the law.

If it will do nothing to protect the environment but places more restrictions on firearms owners the democrats will make it a law.

You cannot be alive in California and have bought a handgun in California 6 years ago. 6 years ago we had a lifetime BFSC card. Now we have the HSC card. I guess our lifetime expried.

Just because the DOJ is willing to enforce it doesn't make it a law/illegal.

If you are out in the desert and it looks like a great place to shoot the democrats made it illegal.

If it was designed to hold more than 10 rounds the democrats made it illegal.

I know there are more but this should give you a basic understanding of the laws in California.

Have fun, be safe, and enjoy your purchase.

I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Welcome to the great state of the "Screwed Up" ! To put it simply, handguns will fall under two 2 conditions. California Roster and Non Roster guns. The CA Roster guns are "approved" handguns for the sale and importation for sale in CA. -- http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

Non Roster guns - are gun that are not on the CA approved list. These guns were here in CA, or brought into CA by a lawful gun owner and latter decided to sell the handgun via PPT to another person.

So if the gun you want is not on this list "http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/" and you are not an LE you will never be able to purchase the gun unless somebody has it in the state of CA. The problem is you must meet with him Face to Face and do the DROS and stuff at a FFL.

Good luck, in your search - I to want a Desert Warrior.

Also, Kimber has to submit a few of the firearms, and pay to have it cerified, and then keep paying to keep the gun on the "Approved" list.

Such BS, this is why alot of manufactures wont do it and we, in the end, miss out on the good ones.

                        Yes. Same gun, different finish.
Any CA gunstore can sell a warrior II

In CA, the Warrior II is approved. The Warrior II has the series II firing pining block. The standard Warrior does not. Small difference, but some people don't like the series II safety.

They have to sell the gun in California with the Schwartz safety. Frankly I think it sucks, but I do feel "safer."
