    Need some Sig information

I was at Turner's today in Corona and looked at a brand new Sig P220ST. Is this gun still being made or is it a discontinued item? The reason I ask is because I tried to find out some info on it and it's not listed in the product section of their website and search doesn't turn up much info on it. They were asking $999.00 for it and it really is a nice piece. Any known problems? Is that a good price? Does the value decrease if it is discontinued? Thanks for any info you can give...

Its discontinued, SIG brought out the elite version which is not available to civilians in Cali, and so stopped production of the ST model. i think the price is extremely high your best of looking on this site they come up often and in the $700 to $800 range, great gun , i have one though its a tad bit heavy.

If I were you, I'd try before I buy.

See if you have a friend (Calgunner) or your local range can rent you a Sig.

i have one i picked up as a CPO and i love it. Its a hefty piece, but i knew that going in. But depending when it was made i tihnk teh finish looks a little different. Mine is more of a matte/dull finish while i've seen alot of others that were blasted to a lighter finished color. I think that might have something to do with the medium used during bead blasting. Anyway, it shoots great, and feels nice and solid.

            Any known problems?
Some early production P220 ST had internal extractor issues. SIG somehow resolved that issue through repair and product improvement. The latest P220 (regardless of finish) now come with external extractor.

            Is that a good price?
IMHO, it's a fair price for retail.

Does the value decrease if it is discontinued?
            No.

Have to agree with the others -- beefy price for that one. I also saw 2 for sale in the past 6 months or so on here running in the 600-700 range.

might want to try sig forum's classified section....lots on sale there @ a better price.

              GOOD LUCK!

The P220ST is still being produced in limited numbers specifically for California dealers. I came across a NIB one two months ago that had the new roll marks as well as the external extractor and snatched it up since I'd been looking for one. Manufacture date on the box was 3/29/08.

Called SIG customer service and they confirmed that the stainless frame models are still being produced for California in small numbers since we don't have access to the Elite series pistols, some of which are available with a stainless frame.

                Hope this helps!
