any p90 users?

I agree with El Barto, it's a big hulking gun. Although my hands are pretty small, it's not too small that it's unwieldy either.

awesome gun. It has functioned flawlessly so far. Definetly a work horse. I'm also selling mine too, moving up to a sig 220.

I have a P94 in 9mm, but I can definitely say that Rugers are built like tanks and from what I have heard from others, the P90 is pretty accurate.

This is mine, I am a terrible shot so don't blame the gun!


It has never had an FTF or FTE and weighs a ton so I'm sure it will outlast me! I use it as an HD weapon and wouldn't hesitate to trust my life to it. The Ruger trigger does take some getting used to though. If you do get one, I highly suggest the rubber Hogue grips. I now have them on mine and it was the best $20 spent!

I wouldn't shoot +P all day long..

I used to have a P90DC in .40S&W. The frame was aluminum, and I belive the rails the slide slid on were aluminum, not steel inserts. Mine did not seem all that heavy to me.

I put on Hogue grips, and it was pretty comfy in my hand. A bit bulky, but reliable, just not much to look at- and the trigger was functional, but not great. Nice gun for someone who can't afford a snob-gun

I have a P97 and a P90, mainly I bought them due to very fair prices on a ok quality DA .45acp autoloader. They are serviceable but I prefer the 1911 pattern for better triggers and accuracy, same with the Sig Sauer but they are much more expensive. The P97 was $280 NIB 2 years ago at Turners. The P90 was $230 with some light rust 2 years ago also,some here have scored even better deals on them.

I own several P90's, P89's, P94's, etc... I ususally pick them up for a real deal from someone who wants something with more flash. Every Ruger jam story I have ever come across was related to junk aftermarket mags or a nocie shooter who was limp writsting their guns.
Ruger's were not designed to be pretty. They were just designed to work very well for a very long time shooting whatever you put through them.
Think of them as a more accurate version of the AK47 and you have the right mindset.
The P90 was such as good gun that Massad Ayoob recomended it for his officers at his police departmet and it was adopted by his agency for uniformed carry. He has also used it to win several competitions. It was only replaced in their arsenal by the newer P945 as the newer version was better suited to a wider size of hands and had a light rail for more options.

A P90 was my first handgun. I loved it (but was in college and needed the money, so sold it later on).

They are built like tanks - point very well, and the triggers aren't bad. Never ever had a malfunction with mine.

Still an excellent value for a workmanlike gun.

Rugers are built extremely well as everyone said.

BUT

I will not get a Ruger because 1. It's wayy too big for my comfort, 2. its ugly

Functionality > Looks but to me I can find many guns that function great and look good at the same time. I'd say Rugers are very affordable and reliable though. I do like the way KP345s look.

i ended up with an xd45 but i held the p345 and the p90 i have big hands so it was no problem. i only passed on the ruger cause its just a matter of time before the xd's go up in price or no longer come with the extras plus it will be easier to come up with money later on to buy a ruger as opposed to an xd. thanx for everyones help and btw rugers do come with a lifetime warranty not sure if any other makers do the same.

I am currently looking for a Ruger P85 (IIRC) in 9mm. I'd like to be able to use my PC9 magazines in both guns. If the PC9 is any indication, the P85 will be an excellent firearm.

I've had my P91DC since about 1992. I love it, it's ultra reliable and it doubles as a wheel chock. BTW, I have big hands.
