PPT from non-resident

Are there any restrictions around PPT transfers from non-CA residents to CA residents? I have family members in OR that want to gift me a gun (could do ftf transfer when they come back for the holidays) but wasnt sure if this was legal, especially if the gun is off the roster. Thanks

PPT is only between CA residents.

For it to be exempt from roster requirement it has to be a direct relative, father son, along those types of lines. Sibling's and cousins do not work for an exemption to the roster. Anything going across state lines has to go through an FFL per federal law.

I wonder if the new DES system has been properly programmed to allow out-of-state residents to be the transferor in a PPT transfer. Nothing in the PC or CCR that I know of prohibits it, but that is the way the DROS system was programmed. so in the end, it was basically an underground regulation, but the end result was no out-of-state transferors.

This is not a free state.

You can not have THAT gun in this state.

Now you know our state government knows best.
There has to be something wrong with it if it is not on the roster.
