    CZ75 question

I've decided to buy a CZ in 9mm (if I can find one for a decent price). It's always been between a 75SA and SP-01 because I wanted an upswept beaver tail. I know zfields and others said it made a difference in how high of a grip you can get. Today I was at a Turners during lunch break and they had a 75b in .40s&w that I held. I have a large hand but skinny fingers and seemed to be able to get a pretty high grip on the 75B without being anywhere near the slide with it pulled back. Is the 75SA frame "cut" the same minus the beaver tail? Not sure if that makes sense, but I'm trying to guesstimate if the other 2 models will allow me a higher hold, considerering I'm already choked up as high as I can and am clear of the slide on the 75B. I know it's hard to say exactly, but just looking for input of people that have owned them.

I'd try them side by side, but shops don't have both local to me to do an actual comparison. I'll probably just have to ask my FFL to order one or transfer from out of state. Thanks for any input - I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever one I get. Just trying to make the best choice for a new plinker.

I recently handled a c75b also and really liked them!! But it was in .40 cal.. what do you guys think of the 75b in .40? Does it handle the recoil well?

I had a CZ75B in .40 cal. The weight of the gun handled the recoil very well. It's a great shooter.

I think the 40cal CZ 75B looks better since the slide isn't tapered like the 9mm ones. I'm actually contemplating making that for my next purchase... or a P-01... or a CZ 97

I own both styles, there is very little difference in the tang height. 1 maybe 2 millimeters. If you like the 75b grip I say buy it. Not worth the extra $150 for a slightly different tang design.

I can't tell a difference on my grip between my 75B and my 75SA. I do notice a difference on my SP-01 though. Weird, I know.

Love my 75B in 9mm! It shoots where you point it and is very comfortable in my hands.

The grip is slightly different on the SP-01 vs the CZ75b SA as the trigger guard is cut just a little bit higher where the trigger guard meets the grip... it is slight. also the grip is shaped differently at the bottom. I like the sp-01 a lot but the CZ75b SA I love. Both have the beaver tail. On the same token the P-01 has the same grip style as the SP-01 just smaller, though the rubber plate on the mag really makes for an awesome grip on a compact duty gun. I was never a really big fan of the slide on the regular CZ75b, but i have since gotten a kadet kit for these platforms and find i really like how it looks on the standard frame of the CZ75b SA

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies. I said F-it, and just ordered an SP-01 through my FFL a little while ago. Not in stock, but it is allocated to me. Time to reload 1k 9mm rounds to shoot and see what I want to replace on the gun after that (if anything at all).
