Thought you were going to get a 1911

The Taurus 66 is closest to the medium framed S&Ws (686 etc). I've no experience with the 66, but since Taurus revolvers are reputed to be built "just like" their S&W counterparts, you're in for a positive experience.

I've (over the years) owned a few Taurus pistols and they've proven to be reliable and accurate shooters.

I own a Taurus Tracker 4" BBL .44 magnum 5 shot with ported barrell and it is pleasure to shoot. The recoil is very manageable, so I assume that .357 will be even lass punishing. Those are great revolvers for about half price of S&W. Next I want 6 1/2" barrelled non-ported Taurus in .44 mag to shoot slugs as well as bird shot.

There's lots posted about Taurus. It might be a good idea if you did some searching before you spend your money.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.
