    Ruger Single Six

During Thanksgiving I had time to kill while waiting for turkey. So brought my guns over to my parents house so i could clean them. While doing so my dad asked if i could clean his.

Decided to snap a couple pics while cleaning it. Bought it in '72 for $75 otd. Its all original, with both cylinders.

    Enjoy

Money has really lost its value. I remember Colt Pythons were $175.00 in 1972.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

I'd love to have an early Single-Six with the old classic action. Did your dad send it to Ruger for the free safety mods to the transfer bar setup or leave it alone? I have an early Colt New Frontier .22 Buntline. Really like its classic C-O-L-T action.

Leave it alone! I wouldn't dream of sending back my old model Blackhawk.

Nice gun. I have a stainless Single Six that I inherited with both cylinders. I have yet to shoot it though.

^^^ This. I really want a three screw but if it's been molested might as well get a later model cheaper.

Never send one back to Ruger for the transfer bar modification. They send you your old parts back but also stamp the frame to indicate it has been updated.

Nothing like that classic six-gun profile. I have one from the mid sixties, thought about sending it in for the mod, just couldn't bring myself to do it. Glad I didn't.

No safety mod from ruger has been performed.
