    Treasure from grandpa!

Grandpa decided it was time to pass along some goodies. Among a few .22;rs, a smith and wesson 915, a 5 digit serial numbered savage model 99 in .250-3000, was this baby.
    His department issued SW 15-2

It ain't pretty but it saved grandpas life countless times, for many years while he was a deputy.

That's so cool, they use to be able to keep their issued arms.

They usually have the option to buy when they switch weapons or at retirement.
The DA pull is nice, but the SA pull is SCARY, easily under a pound.

That truly is a treasure. Use it to begin a tradition of heirlooming it, when you have your own grandchildren.

Nice! I hope that someday when my grandchildren are old enough to own guns that I may have a chance to hand them down my firearms. Give your grandpa a hug and a kiss for doing such a noble thing.

Very nice, hopefully you'll be able to pass them down too.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

I bet that thing has history. Take care of it and keep it in the family.

Does anyone know where I can look up the serial number to see when it was made?

If it could only talk, imagine the stories it could tell.
