It's because of Rick.^
Still not as cool as Harry Calahan and his Model 29 though.

It's funny, I have many 1911's that are worth more than a Python (even at CA prices) and I shoot those all the time.
I have a 4 inch, Royal Blue Python made in 1980, fired once, original box and papers, and it sits in the safe. I admire its beauty, but it's a valuable gun I know I'll never buy again. Not because it's too expensive to purchase another, but because I'm simply not a wheelgun guy. I love looking at my Python, but I'm not anxious to shoot it or any other wheelgun for that matter.
I admire the Python for its beauty, and it is the only safe queen I own.
I have to admit that current prices have made me consider selling it, even though I don't really "need" the money for another gun purchase.
But then there wouldn't be a mint Python in my safe, in IMO the best looking configuration no less (4 inch, Royal Blue). And that would make me sad.Comment

I had a 6 inch python once. Most accurate hand gun I ever owned. Got rid of it because the cylinder/head space got loose. I'm still kicking myself. Most awesome hand gun. Maybe ever.Comment
