    clean sights?

How do you get the sights clean? I waited to clean my XDM until the white dots were black and after cleaning with hoppes elite they are still hard to see.

M-pro 7 will eat through damn near anything. It doesn't take much. I use it for all of my guns. And its non toxic so the wife doesn't complain when I feel like cleaning my guns in the house.

I have a Springfield Armory Loaded 1911 with the white 3 dot sights. Within the first few cleanings, the white dots either popped out or got so bad that I ended up taking them out. I used Hoppes #9. I wound up getting a white out pen and using that to fill in the hole for my front sight. I had the white-out in the rear sights too, but decided to try the white dot front sight and blacked out rear. For normal range stuff it seems to do o.k.

Anyways, even if you obliterate your dots on your sights, you can always re-do them cheaply and easily with a white out pen.

I try to use a soft bristle brush and CLP on the sights these days. But, they get kinda dingy after a while.

                Happy shooting and be safe.

just get them clean with hoppes, a q-tip helps get in there, then repaint with nail polish or hobby paint if the dots are still stained

I guess from the sooty stuff from shooting. Either that or just everyday grime from carrying.

Out of 20k + rounds I've never gotten a dirty sight on any gun.
