    compensator

    you see compensators that replace the barrel bushing for sale for 1911's all the time....are they CA legal? they don't thread on the barrel, so it seems they should be OK...?

            no threaded barrel, Synergy, it just replaces the barrel bushing. The barrel stays unthreaded...

                  If the compensator is permanently attached via weld or similar fashion to the barrel you can have a truly compensated 1911.

                    Or you can get a Trubor barrel which has an integral compensator.

                      Or I guess you could just get it Magnaported. I just thought $18.00 was a steal, when they usually run about $70.00...
