Help Me Decide on new 1911

My local FFL has a bunch of off-list 1911's he's willing to SSE. I really don't need another 1911 but sometimes when you have that itch....this gun will be strictly a range toy and I don't plan to shoot competitively with it (have other options there). I also want to keep the OTD $$$ to $1K or less. So help me out CG!

Of those listed I prefer Springfield. I have a few in my collection. If you are going to pay for SSE, what is your budget? I would try and get something more rare like a Dan Wesson.

Please tell me what FFL has a Range Officer in stock. I would love one as a base for a build.

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

I love my remington r1! The carry enhanced versions of the remington are awesome from the ones I've seen!

Of those you listed, the SA Loaded is probably the nicest.

I can't comment on any of you choices besides the R1, so I'm not going to say one is better than the others. I will say I love my R1 though.

I would go for the Springfield RO simply because I don't have that one on your list and I am not interested in the Remington.

If you are serious about your decision, you will read this. The guy is a renowned 1911 gunsmith and a master of his craft.

Get a SIg 1911 at that budget. Better than any you listed.

If I had the money this Dan Wesson Specialist would be what I would get. But I think the OP wants one OTD for $1K or less... This gun would probably cost around $2K with tax and DROS.

Write them all down on slips of paper and put them in a hat.

Wesson makes a clean looking gun if you can find one. That said, I'm too cheap to buy a DW. Springfields are solid and have a good warranty. Can't go wrong there.
