What are some of the other acceptable form of proof of residency? I know people generally use car registration, utility bill, and C&R license. Is there anything else that DOJ will accept?

From the CA DOJ web site:

Firearms Dealers Links to Topics below General FAQs DROS Entry System (DES) Internet Process AB 1872/2165/2699 Dealer FAQs General FAQs What are California's licensing requirements for firearms dealers? How much is the annual Centralized List fee and when must it be paid? What is a California Firearms Dealer (CFD) number? Do I need to send copies of my dealer's Federal Firearms License and local firearms license(s) to DOJ? How is DROS information submitted? How do I get copies of the blank DROS worksheet? How can I correct or cancel a DROS submission?

C.Property deed that bears the individual's name and either of the following: 1.The individual's current residential address as declared on the DROS form; or
2.The individual's address as it appears on his or her California Driver License or California Identification Card, or change of address attachment thereto. "Property deed" means either or the following: a.A valid deed of trust for the individual's property of current residence that identifies the individual as a grantee of the trust; or
b.A valid Certificate of Title issued by a licensed title insurance company that identifies the individual as a title holder to his or her property of current residence.

It doesn't matter what the DOJ accepts really. It's what the shop accepts that the DOJ accepts.

Call the shop speak to a manger and find out what else they accept. I've driven down to a shop after reading here 2 others says for proof. Both were not accepted by the shop even tho many here said they were and DOJ accepted it. I was upset but it's shop policy and their policy to set being it's their license is what's at stake. Again call them and save your self a head ache. Shops don't know everything nor are willing to take a customers word for it that he heard from the interwebs.

        What CK 32 said.

I drove an hour and presented a second proof that the shop did not accept.
        So call and ask.

Definitely check what the shop accepts.

FWIW, For my first handgun, I used 2 different vehicle registrations (I have a po box on my CDL,so I can't use that). For my second pistol at a different shop, they only accepted 1 registration, but I don't remember what I used as the second.
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

I tried a utility bill once and was told NO, it had to be from a government owned utility.

+1 for the lease agreement method.

I used that for a 2nd doc on a PPT recently because none of the utilities of the residence are in my name even though I live there. As long as the lease agreement matches the address on my CA Driver's License.

I even made the lease agreement out for $1 rent a month. The FFL accepted without no issues.

how about this BS? one Turner's started my DROS with out 2nd proof; today the Orange store refused both to accept a property tax bill and to start DROS until second proof.

it's all the same chain but Orange won't feel my footsteps again.

Seriously? I'm gonna try that next month just to see if it'll work. I usually used my renters agreement, I used it at turners and they accepted it even though it isn't notarized

Gonna try my GMRS-FRS radio license next time. It helps if the LGS/FFL can actually read the CADOJ list.

Utility bill less than 3 months old does not apply to the other docs.

                              Building permit? Bicycle registration?
