    Springfield XD Bi-Tone

I have been trying to purchase a XD 9 service model bi-tone in SoCal (Los Angeles) and I have no luck finding any for sale. I can only find all black but no SS slide aka bi-tone. Does anyone know where and how I can purchase this from?

    Thanks!

gunbroker, grabagun, buds are some good choices... Check Galleryofguns.com as well. Look in the marketplace and just call around to your favorite LGS and see if they can find one. Also, welcome to Calguns! Blessings to you. Good luck with your search...

        Nope.......It is not for sale.

Actually, mine is a 40 cal, but I also have a 9mm barsto barrel fit to it.

If you can find an all black XD, you could have the slide hard chromed. It looks very nice, I have seen them in person. As far as not cali aproved, the model number has to match. If it is just the 10+ mags that are a no go, you might be able to get it without mags.

Single shot exemption may be another option. It would need a long barrel and single shot mag. Do a search for SSE if you are not familiar with it.

I think your other option would be to find a used bitone since it would be a person to person transfer and wouldn't matter if it was on the safe handgun list, as far as I know.

Good luck with the search. I have somewhere above 30k rounds through mine. It looks like I have a worn striker spring now, it doesn't set off all the primers. The spring was lighter and was installed by my gunsmith when he did the trigger a few years ago. 3.25 pounds of pull and 3/16" total travel. Some XD's are ok when stock and others totally suck, as far as trigger goes. Look up pistol gear for accessories. I do recommend Dave's Metal Works in Covina, Ca for gunsmith and trigger work-he did mine. He did the dawson bomar cut adjustable FO sights, and the 9mm barrel, too.
