    G19 Barrel Question

I recently picked up a G19 gen3. Went shooting and put about 100 rounds through it. After the range session, I came home and cleaned it with solvent and brass bristle brush. Then a brass jib with cotton square on top

After which I notice what seems like a scratches about 1" from the crown.

It was hard to take a macro shot with enough light and not wash it out. But you can sort of make it out. It doesn't look pitted to the naked eye, just a discoloration.

Wondering if it is something I should worry about. Hard to see how I would of scratch it with a brass brush and brass jib. I used a pro shot cleaning rod:

Looks fine, I honestly would not worry about it. It takes a material harder than your Glock barrel to damage it.

Bro you have a 115gr chunk of lead and brass flying down that at 1300FPS.

Your not going to hurt it with a bronze cleaning jig haha as long as the finish isn't chipping put her back together and run it!

It's weird my 17 has at least 7k in it and I still don't have one.

Yea I've seen them too. I wonder how many rounds it takes to get them. I figured I'd have one by now lol

Kinda shocked me when I popped mine open and looked after your guys' posts. I was like whaaaa?!

I wonder how many rounds it takes. I like to run wet so maybe that's why I still have like no wear on my barrel.

Did you drag the brush backwards?
No worries on scratches though, as long as the rifling and crown are good, accuracy will still be there.

I am on the do not clean with a brass brush though.

Just use the barrel brush that comes with the new glock; I use that sucker on all my pistols. Easy on the finish and they last forever. Aside from the extra mag, it's the only usable accessory that comes with a glock

it's not scratched, it's just not cleaned. get a brass brush and attach it to a high speed drill, spray some good cleaner and run it through with a drill, a lot of crud will come out, but you'll end up with a brand new looking barrel.
I do this once in a blue moon when my barrel is filthy and will not get clean. Your not going to hurt the rifling on the barrel, like "CK 32" mentioned you shooting a plated lead bullet at 1300fps out of that barrel, it takes a lot to mess one up.

Glad to know it's not anything serious. Here is another pic, but with the others in the original post, I think it gives you guys a good idea of how it looks in real life.
