Double/single action vs single action only

I was looking at the sig p226 single action only and really want to see the benefit of it. No decocker and a safety... Personally I like having a round chambered and decocking knowing that a longer pull is needed to fire without having to worry about manipulating a safety. So, what are some advantages of a single action only with the exception of safety and shorter initial trigger pull?

I read the "stickie" on this but would like more feedback.

I'd say pretty much that lighter trigger pull is the biggest benefit. You'll also have one consistent pull as opposed to two different ones. You'd just need to get used to flipping the safety off when you draw.

The only trade off is flipping the thumb safety off vs. the longer first DA pull.

There is no speed difference to the first accurate shot nor is there to the followup shots. It isn't that hard to learn to hit accurately with the DA trigger stroke, you just have to adapt to the shorter followup trigger presses.

When you are done with a string of fire, it is more natural to press down on the decock lever, than it is to flip up the thumb safety before safely reholstering
