After a year of waiting, my LGS finally got a couple Sig P220 Elite Darks in. Unfortunately for me, it was the same day I picked up my P226 SAO from jail. So after a long 30 day wait and 10 day wait on top of that, I finally brought her home.

Now I will say this, I've owned 6 Sigs in my life and this is the first 45 Sig I've owned. I've liked every Sig I've owned but this is my favorite.
I like the weight balance of it and the single stack feels great. The aluminum grips feel amazing and I have vowed to replace the grips on any Sig I own with the aluminum grips. Having small hands, the aluminum grips coupled with the single stack frame makes the gun perfect for my hands.
The finish is just like any other Sig so I have no complaints.
The SRT trigger feels like any other SRT trigger, which is a good thing.
Now the sights might be the only thing I'm not too happy with. Don't get me wrong, they work fine, but the rear sight is a bit much for me. Seems pretty bulky and looking through them doesn't feel right. I'm thinking of swapping the sights out for a fixed rear and TFO front sight.
I was finally able to take it to the range this past Thursday and I worried myself a bit. Right away I was shooting low. I like to consider myself a pretty darn good shot so my immediate though was something was wrong with the gun. Then I remembered, duh, combat sights. I put the front sight on the bulls and bam, problem solved. Here's a five shot group at 25 yards. Yes it isn't that great but considering I was all kinds of shaky just trying to hold the dam gun up (don't work out your arms and shoulders right before heading to the range) it isn't too bad.

I have to say I'm impressed and love this gun. No its not as good as a custom 1911 but for the price out of the box, I couldn't be happier. The gun felt balanced, shot smooth with no issues, and once I quit being a dummy and a sissy, it shot right where I aimed.
Was it worth the wait?
Hell ya.
