Question about stippling Glock 22 *with pic*

So i'm wanting to stipple my Glock 22 3rd gen and I have a question. I seen a youtube video of a guy using a dremel to sand down the ridge on the palm side of the grip. Would you recommend this or what you just go straight to stippling?

      What ridge? The thumb slot/cutout?

I don't think it would effect anything, but I'm not a Glock armorer.

Don't listen to the posts to follow that say you don't need to stipple or, "go buy some gloves." Those are people who have never carried a firearm for self defense and actually had to train with it. Glocks are horrible for grip. If my department would let me stipple mine, I would.

I have to settle with gripe tape. Glad I'm going back to a Sig soon.

before you do it, Just know if you ever want to sell the gun, it will lower the value. Just my 2 cent.

im not talking about the finger grooves, im talking about the raised ridge on the grip where the glock logo is.

gosh that is so ugly, by grinding down the outside ridges you are reducing the grips, if you think your glock has too big of a grip yes do it, if you don't think so then just do the UGLY stippling and lower the value of your firearm.

              OR

Just get the black talon grip, they stick right on, provide just as good if not better grip, look much better then stippling, and is reversible.

I'll never understand why people want to stipple.

I don't care about the value, not selling it. don't like talon grips. Its my least favorite gun and i'm wanting to experiment with it.

Buy an old plastic saiga stock or piece of kydex off of eBay

Get you temperature, pressure and pattern worked out and then attack your pistol.

If you are asking if you should dremel off the swell, I would ask how does the gun fit your hand and would adding or removing material help???

                            Post pics of your work!!!!!
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                            (thanks to Jeff Cooper)
