    Bit of a 'dilemma'

I went to go look (probably buy) at a Sig P220R but the store didn't have one. My eyes did however fall on a SA 1911; I think it was a Mil-Spec. 1911s were a bit second to some other guns until now. I like the look, how it feels.
I go home and find out about the SA TRP.. Something I could see myself getting my hands on.

But then I did a few minutes of reading about all the metal injection molded parts.. Whats the deal? SA makes quality guns so what's up with concerns about mim parts. Are people really concerned they'll get some lemon of a hammer?

Also, the TRP seems to be about $1400-1500.
So them I'm thinking why the TRP? Why not get the P220 (still want it bad) and get a SA 1911 Mil-Spec?

SA's MIM parts are of no concern. They're good quality.

I must agree with Majik..... I was eying a P220 Combat.... Those are some beauties!!!! It will have to wait until next year. I got something else. SA 1911's are good to go. But I say get what you want the most first. All the others can wait. Good luck and God bless!

While SA makes great pistols and their customer service is great I'd pay a little more for a "loaded" model.

            Ok sounds good, thanks guys.
I think I'm going to go ahead with the P220 first.. Then might just wait a bit longer and get the TRP..
Just gotta find a P220 now.. No LGS has one.

My LGS at my other place has one but I wont be there for another couple weeks so it may be gone.. Plus it's probably being molested everyday by people..

ummm.. I think you need to work on your googlefu, the springfield armory loaded is basically a entry level 1911, the TRP cost a lot more then the sa 1911 loaded.

Ummmmm....no it's not. OP mentioned the SA Milspec. That's the entry level. The SA loaded falls in between the Range Oficer and then the TRP loaded.

There is always gunbroker.com bro. I always buy from there.....Such a pain shopping around and I am in the desert things are hard to come by. I just pay the extra 50-60 bucks on the transfer and get what I want and know that its mine immediately. But that's me. I just bought 3 more guns from gunbroker last week. Best website for gun auctions IMHO. Good luck and blessings to you

I really should find an LGS that has reasonable transfer costs because I'm sure I'm missing out on a deal or two.
You've always been satisfied with your experience? With not being able to check the gun out first?

Ooh thanks I didn't really know about that one. 10+1 I like that. I'll have to find one in person and see how it feels.

yeah brother, if they say its new I have no problems based on their feedback I trust them. I have bought 5 guns from gunbroker within the past 2 years... ZERO issues. Check the feedback, the pics and that is usually good enough for me.

I think for the price point of a Sig P220, great gun btw, a 1911 equal to it is going to cost at least that if not more. They a very different.

The 227 is off roster but it's out there. I would definitely consider it over a P220 or a 1911. My best shooting combat size pistol is my 226. Everything about it is "just right" and the 227 is the same gun but it in 45 acp, 10 round mags instead of 8, must have it!
