    Transporting firearm on public transit...

I'm traveling out of town this weekend and will be shooting at a local range.
My wife will have the car for a dog competition and will drop me off at the range. The range is on a local transit line.

If my handguns are in locked hard cases, stowed in a range bag.... am I
good to travel on public transportation? Ammo will be in a second range bag.
Just trying to get back to the hotel, my wife won't be done for hours later.

To most people , it will look just like luggage.

This, and no need to store ammo seperately. Just no loaded mags inserted into gun/ loaded cylinder. I have extensive experience with this. They can't discriminate against you if they take any federal funds. It's illegal to deny you as long as your transporting legally, locked container. I actually notified one agency in the east bay area that the policy they had posted online (no firearms) was illegal. They have since removed that part from their policy.

My range bag has a zippered section where it can be locked, that count?
